The spread and originate of Sandy Springs Opossums:
The spread, in historical times, the opossum of Virginia from the southeastern United States to the north of Ontario in Canada is remarkable for an animal whose original seat in tropical and subtropical climates. And even more remarkable if we take into account that these are marsupials, a group that, in many parts of the world, has become extinct in the face of competition from placental mammals.

Where does generally opossum live?
A Georgia opossum is described as a nocturnal animal, aggressive and solitary. They do not tolerate members of the same species except when the breeding season arrives, in front of their predators they have the ability to play dead to avoid being attacked.

They seek refuge among the stones, trees or under the ground. They like abandoned burrows. They usually change shelters continuously for the day they spend their time resting. The opossum is a mammal that does not hibernate.

Opossum usually live in wooded areas where fodder on the ground. They climb trees only to escape from enemies like dogs and sometimes they climb to find food. They can, however, climb and take with opposable fingers, while the tail is almost prehensile. A young opossum can hang on a branch in the corner but adults can use them only as brakes or fifth hand for greater support.

Each Sandy Springs opossum has a home range that is usually 6.7 hectares, although sometimes it is twice as large. They feed mainly at night and spend the day in a nest in hollow logs, abandoned burrows, or under heaps of dead brush. The nest is made of dead leaves that occur in a very unusual way. They are collected in the mouth and transmitted between the front legs to be held between the belly and the tail that bends under the body.

Are they found mostly in Urban areas or Wild areas?
Usually, the Georgia opossum prefers areas with humidity. They have great ability to adapt to different habitats. They prefer especially forests and areas of scrub, with ponds, rivers or streams, because they do not despise bathe. Many species of opossums can also live in semi-urban areas where they can find their food easily.
