What should I do if I find an orphaned baby Sandy Springs wild animal wandering about?
This is a hard one because a lot of supposedly orphaned baby Sandy Springs animals picked up by humans or our pets are not orphaned at all, they are just young animals out of the nest finally who don't know better then to walk across in front of a human being. Unless the animal is obviously injured the best thing you can do for is probably just observe what it's doing for long enough to decide if it needs your help or not, and in most cases the answer is not. Sure if this silly little bugger is going to go wandering onto a road or something of that nature you could pick it up and move it to someplace safer but remember do not move it all that far because it's nest and its mother will be looking for it close to where you are when you found it.
There are certain signs that the Humane Society says baby animals show when they do actually need your help, these are:
• the baby is being presented to you by your dog or cat
• There is obvious bleeding
• there are signs of a broken limb, maybe the baby Georgia animal cannot walk properly
• it is a bird, it has no feathers or nearly no feathers and is out of the nest
• the baby is shivering
• the baby is close to the body of the dead adult which is probably its mother
• the baby Sandy Springs animal wanders around crying for hours
Obviously if the baby Georgia animal is injured, all shows signs of possible injuries then the best thing you can do is get veterinary help. If the baby is not injured then you should contact your local wildlife rehabilitator for assistance, wildlife rehabilitator's will offer you advice which should be followed however a lot of the time they will recommend if the animal is uninjured that you take it to your local animal control center, if you do this the animal will most assuredly be euthanized.
If your luck is in your local wildlife rehabilitator will just tell you to bring the Sandy Springs animal to them and once you deliver it, it is out of your hands. If the advice is to kill the animal and that is not to your liking you can get advice on how to try and rare the baby animal, if you succeed you may have another problem later on, when the animal is adult it will consider your house as home.
